Ex-Comelec Chair Andy Bautista Sets Conditions For His Return To PH!

SAN FRANCISCO, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Francisco Bureau) – Fugitive ex-Comelec Chair Andy Bautista is closely watching law enforcement developments in the Philippines. He couldn’t be more happy that incarcerated Senator Leila de Lima has just been acquitted in one of two remaining cases against her.

De Lima’ second acquittal gives Bautista the courage to return to the Philippines to answer charges against him for unexplained wealth brought forward by no less than his wife. (Bautista faces a Senate warrant of arrest after eluding a subpoena and fleeing the country).

Now, Bautista is sending feelers through contacts in the Philippines that he would consider coming back and even be jailed if convicted by the Philippine courts.

He has one irrevocable condition though. He wants assurance that if jailed, he will take over de Lima’s quarters and that he be allowed to re-decorate it to make his time in prison worth his while.

He sent a photo on how he wants his jail cell to be refurbished:

Philippine Banks Close For Hours On The Last Banking Day Of The Week!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Forget about the power outage at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), or the glitch that affected many account holders of GCash.

For almost three hours today, Friday — on the last banking day of the week — most of the major Philippine banks closed their doors to the anger and frustration of many of their customers.

Millions of Filipinos expected their weekday or mid-month paychecks but the bank closures prevented them from withdrawing their money. Millions of others expressed disgust that they could not take out cash from their ATMs for their weekend shopping.

The Adobo Chronicles’ investigative team traced the unexpected bank closures to “system outrage.”

Quite understandable.
