The newly-named magazines hope to increase their readership by re-branding.
NEW YORK, New York (The Adobo Chronicles, New York Bureau) – First Amendment Rights violations in America is a big issue. But what are the costs involved in ensuring free speech?
New York City is preparing to pay a total of $13.7 million to 1.4 million New Yorkers who were arrested and/or subjected to force by police and had their First Amendment Rights violated in 2020.
That’s a whole lot of money!
But wait! How much will each of the 1.4 million people receive as compensation?
Nine Dollars and Seventy Nine Cents. $9.78, less tax!
After all, the cost of defending free speech is cheap.
TAGBILARAN, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Tagbilaran Bureau) – The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) is on a roll sighting legendary birds and, well, part-humans!
Just hours after it announced the sighting of ‘Ibong Adarna’ in Mount Apo, DENR revealed that it has sighted a manananggal over parts of Bohol province.
The manananggal is a Philippine legendary creature that primarily preys on pregnant women in the middle of the night when they are asleep. It uses its elongated tongue to suck out the woman’s blood or the heart of her fetus. It has the ability to sever its upper torso from its lower torso and sprout huge wings that resemble bat wings, which it uses to fly through the sky and search for its next victim.
A security guard at the DENR office in Tagbilaran took a snap shot of the flying creature.
DENR regional officials have expressed concern that the blood-sucking creature might prey on Bohol’s tarsiers.
