MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – You can only fool the Nobel Peace Prize Committee once. After that, all the lies you’ve spread will eventually catch up with you — in real life.
Risking her life and liberty has always been part of Maria Ressa’s template narrative in her desperate attempt to gain world sympathy for her trumped up charges against former President Rodrigo Duterte.

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Rumors have it that Senator Imee Marcos is preparing to file grave threat charges against former Miss International (and former Mrs. Manotoc) Aurora Pijuan for a tweet she posted on her social media account.
A threat is a threat is a threat, and is punishable under Article 282 of the Philippine Constitution. It doesn’t matter if the threat is carried out or not. Any succeeding disclaimer accompanying the threat does not cancel accountability.
Is this going to be a court battle between two Manotocs? Interestingly, the case will be titled “Manotoc vs. Manotoc.”
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Senator Robin Padilla defended the “Kalima La ilaha ilalah” hand gesture he showed during the singing of the Philippine National Anthem during President Bongbong Marcos’ second State of the National Address.
“It is a show of my faith,” he asserted.
Padilla also told reporters that if he will not be successful in pushing for a federal parliamentary form of government, he’d rather be an imam, go to Malaysia and study the Koran than be a senator.
Unconfirmed reports say that the Muslim senator has applied for a Malaysian passport, presumably in preparation for his move to that neighboring country.
Will he go by his real name or adopt a different name, like Marcial Bonifacio?
