MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Nobel Peace Prize winner and convicted criminal Maria Ressa has a dire prediction for 2022: there will be a repeat of the January 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol!

Composer And National Artist Ryan Cayabyab Alive And Kicking!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – It was like a shockwave. Fans and followers of National Artist Ryan Cayabyab couldn’t believe their eyes when what seemed like an obituary for the Filipino composer extraordinaire flashed on their Facebook page. ”No, he couldn’t pass so soon,” exclaimed one netizen.

Well, it turned out Cayabyab is still alive and kicking.

The culprit was an unnamed graphic designer, and possibly promoter, who was super excited to announce an upcoming tribute to lost souls. And there he was, Cayabyab, pictured in the center of the ”obituary” that surprised fans and critics. It was only upon closer and more critical reading of the announcement that people realized the composer was to be the host of the tribute, not the subject of it.

So, keep calm. Cayabyab is still around and we all look forward to more brilliant compositions in the days, months and years to come.

Leni Robredo Willing To Withdraw From Presidential Race?

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – Is Vice President Leni Robredo finally waking up to the reality that she has no chance of winning the Presidency in the May 2022 Philippine elections?

The Manila Times is reporting that Robredo is willing to unify with other Presidential bets, which many are interpreting to mean she is ready to withdraw from the Presidential race.

But the big question remains — who will she endorse?

Definitely not Bongbong Marcos. Probably not even Manila Mayor Isko Moreno who in a recent poll, has displaced Robredo from the distant No. 2 spot.

Will it be Ping Lacson, or Manny Pacquiao? Or any of the other candidates in Comelec’s list of 11 Presidential candidates?

Stay tuned!
