Mannequin Sales Up In Metro Manila

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Private vehicles with only one person inside will soon be prohibited during rush hours on EDSA as part of the traffic reduction solution of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

Under the policy, set to be implemented this month, only vehicles with two or more passengers would have the privilege to traverse EDSA.

Soon after the new policy was announced, sales of mannequins rose by almost 100%, something that puzzled both the mannequin vendors and the MMDA.

Authorities cannot figure out what the mannequins will be used for. Can you?

Senator Grace Poe Files Bill Banning Filipino Politicians From Traveling To Jerusalem

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Saying that political dynasty in the Philippines is akin to a “Trip to Jerusalem,” Senator Grace Poe filed a bill that would ban Filipinos from seeking elective office if they have close relatives who are incumbents.

In her privilege speech defending her bill, Poe said that the Bureau of Immigration (BOI) will be tasked to implement the ban.

Leni Robredo Protests Reduction of 2019 OVP Budget By P95 Million

Under the P3.757 Trillion national budget proposed for 2019, the OVP will receive P447.6 Million which is almost P100 Million reduction from its 2018 budget.

In lodging her protest, Robredo said: “Paano na yung pa-merienda ko sa mga reporters or my foreign speaking enagements? Naunsyami tuloy yung plan to revisit the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin.” (What happens now for the refreshments I offer to reporters, my foreign speaking engagements and my plan to revisit the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin?)
