MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Filipino wrestling fans defended their turf with chants of “Dutere” after being taunted by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) star Chris Jericho during the SM Mall of Asia Arena house show Saturday night.

The Canadian wrestler threw insults at the Philippines, saying, “I haven’t been to the Philippines for eight years and I hope I don’t have to come back for another eight years because the Philippines stinks.”  “The Philippines stinks man, and Manila is the anus,” he added.

Amid cheers and boos, chants of “Duterte” rose up from the crowd, and the rest of the arena enthusiastically followed suit.

A Filipino wrestling fan in the crowd defended the Canadian, saying that indeed, “the Philippines stinks, thanks to the containers of Canadian trash that continue to sit at the Subic and Manila ports.

The trash was imported from Canada in 2013 by  a local company thinking that the goods were recycled materials.

After Saturday’s wrestling event, Jericho was detained by the Philippines’ Bureau of Immigration (BOI).

BOI told The Adobo Chronicles that Jericho will be deported back to his home country in one of the containers of Canadian trash.

Well. that stinks!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – At last, someone has found the one permanent solution to Metro Manila’s horrific traffic problem.

According to a report by The Philippines’ Daily Inquirer, Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade said that the traffic experienced by the people in Metro Manila is just an imagination, and that in order to solve this nightmarish problem, Filipinos need to change their state of mind.

Why didn’t past administrations think of this before?

So when you leave for school or work today, don’t imagine any traffic. You’ll be surprised it will disappear instantly.

But if you happen to be stuck in traffic, buy the Inquirer and read the paper!

And no more excuses for being late!

While Duterte Is Away, Robredo Won’t Play

image.jpegMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles,  Manila Bureau) – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is leaving the country this week to attend the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit in Laos. So, that means Vice President Leni Robredo will be acting president, right? Wrong.

Duterte has said that Executive Secretary Bingbong Medialdea will act as caretaker officer during his foreign trip.

Robredo can’t complain.  She herself had previously said during a speech in the United States that the only job of the vice president is to wait until something happens to the president.
