WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – Rappler CEO Maria Ressa has issued a clarification regarding her statement that the online news source she owns helped Duterte get elected President.
Ressa made the statement during an Awards Dinner sponsored by the National Democratic Institute in Washington, D.C.
Today, Ressa clarified her statement by telling The Adobo Chronicles that what she really meant to say was that Rappler’s black propaganda as well as biased and negative coverage of Duterte’s presidential campaign helped get him elected.
”We were hoping our coverage would ensure the victory of LP candidate Mar Roxas, but it didn’t turn out that way, much to our dismay,” Ressa said.
Well, now that’s clear!
