NEW YORK, New York (The Adobo Chronicles, San Francisco Bureau) – Gossip tabloids and social media are going crazy over news that Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach from the Philippines is dating Mikhail Varshavski, the “Sexiest Doctor Alive.”

Twenty-six-year-old Varshavski is a New Jersey-based doctor who was awarded People Magazine’s coveted title last fall.

Wurtzbach has posted a photo of herself with Varshavski in what appeared to be a gym date.

Upon hearing the news, Philippine President NoyNoy Aquino and his sister, actress and TV host Kris, were reportedly very upset and devastated.

The president was rumored to have dated Wurtzbach before she became Miss Universe, and Kris had publicly stated that she would be happy to be Wurtzbach’s sister-in-law.

Truth hurts, but it’s time for both Aquinos  to move on.

imageDAVAO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – This week proved to be a busy week for Filipino netizens, having brought to the spotlight the likes of Carrot man, Cabbage man and Chicharron man.  Snapshots of these men went viral after being posted on the Internet.

But it’s a new week, and netizens seem to have anointed their new viral hero and they’re calling him ‘Duterte Man.’ His name is Sebastian and is the son of presidential candidate and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.

Just minutes after Sebastian’s photo was posted on the Internet, it has received thousands of likes, tweets, and reposts.  The young Duterte looks nothing close to his father, as you can see from the viral photo which continues to trend.

Will Mayor Duterte now consider using his son on the campaign trail?  Who needs Coco Martin or Alden Richards when he’s got his own Sebastian?

Move Over, Hot Cop Of Castro: Here Comes Carrot Man Of The Philippines

imageBAGUIO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Obscure men and women become instant celebrities with just one snapshot posted on the Internet.  That’s what happened with Chris Kohrs, the ‘hot cop of Castro’ after an admirer snapped a picture of him while patrolling the gay Castro Street in San Francsico.  The post went viral, and the rest is history.

Now, an unassuming man from a farming family in Sagada, Mountain Province — north of Baguio City — is the new darling of the Internet.

The vegetable farmer was photographed carrying a load of carrots by a Facebook user, Edwina Bandong.  Netizens around the world went crazy.  Many have said he was a lookalike of very prominent Korean actors like Jan Geun-Suk.

His name is Jeyrick Sigmaton, and he is living proof that it doesn’t take multiple postings of your selfie photos for you to become famous.  You just need to be at the right place and right time, and be around someone with a good eye for beauty, and of course, a camera. Or smart phone.
