Facebook On Lockdown For 30 Days

MENLO PARK, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Jose Bureau) – The experts at the World Health Organization (WHO) have spoken, and the social media giant Facebook is listening!

Reacting the WHO’s advice of “social distancing” as a way to prevent being infected with the coronavirus, CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced today that Facebook will go on a voluntary lockdown for 30 days, beginnig March 15.

Zuckerberg told The Adobo Chronicles that his company owes it to its millions of account holders to do its share to prevent the further spread of the deadly virus.

”Facebook is grounded on social interaction and connectivity, so we have decided to quarantine the entire network in response to the global pandemic,” he said.

So, for those whose accounts have been suspended for violation of Facebook’s community standards, don’t feel bad.  You’re no longer alone in being shut out.

Mark Zuckerberg Disappoints Maria Ressa

SAN JOSE, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Jose Bureau) – Rappler CEO Maria Ressa has been quoted as wanting “to take back the Internet” (from whom, who knows) and for accusing the Duterte government of “weaponizing” the law to curtail her  freedom of (Internet) speech.

She had found an ally in Facebook which deputized her online business to be one of the social media giant’s fact checkers in the Philippines.

But lo and behold, Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg just went public about his belief that the government should have a more active role in regulating the Internet.

That’s contrary to what Ressa has been fighting for.

Love lost between Ressa and Zuckerberg?

Donald Trump Names Kansas The New 51st State

WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – The United States of America is now composed of 51 states, after President Donald Trump issued an Executive Order Naming Kansas City in Missouri, No. 51 in the Union.

This bumps the Philippines and Puerto Rico off the potential waiting list for No. 51.

Trump announced his Executive Order in a tweet on Sunday night after the Kansas City Chiefs won their first Super Bowl in 50 years.

“Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs on a great game, and a fantastic comeback, under immense pressure. You represented the Great State of Kansas and, in fact, the entire USA, so very well. Our Country is PROUD OF YOU,” he tweeted.

To differentiate the new state from the existing State of Kansas, the former shall be named the New State of Kansas.

Oh say can you see…
