SAN JOSE, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Jose Bureau) – Rappler CEO Maria Ressa has been quoted as wanting “to take back the Internet” (from whom, who knows) and for accusing the Duterte government of “weaponizing” the law to curtail her freedom of (Internet) speech.
She had found an ally in Facebook which deputized her online business to be one of the social media giant’s fact checkers in the Philippines.
But lo and behold, Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg just went public about his belief that the government should have a more active role in regulating the Internet.
That’s contrary to what Ressa has been fighting for.
Love lost between Ressa and Zuckerberg?
