A New Holy Week Tradition Is Born: Bisita Kay Marites!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – One of the most revered Filipino traditions during Holy Week is “Bisita Iglesia,” where Catholic devotees visit as many churches as they can on Maundy Thursday.

But that tradition is slowly losing traction, especially with many Filipinos skipping church in favor of beach and other vacations during the Holy Week long weekend.

A new tradition seems to have been born, particularly among the so-called “Marites,” men and women who resort to rumor and fake news-mongering to help promote their chosen political orientation or affiliation.

The Adobo Chronicles learned that instead of men and women visiting churches, they go from one house to another, within and outside of their neighborhood, to hook up with fellow Marites to gather more gossip to beef up their social media posts.

The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) has expressed grave concern over this new “Bisita ng mga Marites” which is fast catching fire in many parts of the country.

Thinking Pinoy To Represent President Marcos And First Lady At King Charles’ Coronation!

LONDON, The United Kingdom (The Adobo Chronicles, London Bureau) – In order to appease his critics who are making a loud noise over his acceptance of the invitation to attend King Charles’ coronation in London, President Bongbong Marcos has instead designated his and the First Lady’s representative at the ostentatious Royal ceremonies.

The designated representative is none other than R.J. Nieto, a.k.a. Thinking Pinoy who, based on photos he has posted on his social media account, is really close to the First Couple.

Malacañang told The Adobo Chronicles that the designation of TP will not cost any taxpayer money since the Vlogger is already in London pursuing a mathematics degree.

Nieto has been previously rumored to be Marcos’ pick for the new Secretary For Social Climbing. He likes to hug top officials and celebrities — from former President Rodrigo Duterte, to the Marcoses, to Robin Padilla, among others.

Nieto’s presence at the coronation will be the ultimate medal in his social climbing career.

President Marcos To Attend King Charles’ Coronation — Via Zoom!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Just minutes after Malacañang Palace announced that Bongbong Marcos has accepted the invitation to attend the coronation of King Charles in London, critics, wokes and sour-grapers immediately flooded social media with complaints about yet another Presidential foreign trip at taxpayers’ expense.

PBBM has been criticized for making too many foreign trips within in less than one year in office.

In the spirit of unity and to appease his detractors, the President said that he and the First Lady Lisa Araneta Marcos will instead join the coronation ceremonies via zoom.

All’s well that ends well!
