FROM HONOLULU TO MANILA, EARTHLINGS SURVIVE ANOTHER ARMAGEDDON PREDICTION!

imageHONOLULU, Hawaii (The Adobo Chronicles) – A Christian organization earlier warned that the planet earth will be permanently destroyed on Wednesday, October 7.

The eBible Fellowship, an online affiliation headquartered near Philadelphia, has based its prediction of an October obliteration on a previous claim that the world would end on 21 May 2011. While that claim proved to be false, the organization is confident it has the correct date this time.

“According to what the Bible is presenting it does appear that 7 October will be the day that God has spoken of: in which, the world will pass away,” said Chris McCann, the leader and founder of the fellowship, an online gathering of Christians headquartered in Philadelphia.

“It’ll be gone forever. Annihilated.”

Well, it’s now Thursday in every continent of planet earth, and people are still waking up with everything fully intact.

In Honolulu, surfers started heading for their early morning routine;  the McDonald’s restaurant on Kalakaua Avenue is still serving the island platter of SPAM, Portuguese sausage, eggs and rice; and Japanese and other tourists boarded airconditioned buses headed for Hanauma Bay, a favorite snorkeling spot.

In the Philippines, NoyNoy Aquino is still president while Mar Roxas, VP Jojo Binay and Senator Grace Poe are still running to succeed him; Filipinos are still praying that Mayor Rod Duterte will declare his candidacy; there is still a long line to get to the MRT trains; and commuters are still stuck in traffic on EDSA.

There’s even good news: the man who heads the agency managing public services in the Philippine capital, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chair Francis Tolentino, has resigned following a disgraceful Liberal Party event in Laguna province, featuring lewd performances by scantily-clad women.

But there is also some bad news: Filipino champion boxer Manny Pacquiao, congressman who is the number one absentee legislator, is running for senator; and his chances for a rematch with American Floyd Mayweather just went ‘poooof!’ Mayweather this week announced his retirement after 49 undefeated championship fights.

Meanwhile, the Hollywood film, ‘The Martian,’ opened this week in theaters worldwide  and actor Matt Damon is still in hot water for his racial and homophobic comments.

FILIPINO CHAMPION BOXER MANNY PACQUIAO IS RUNNING FOR SENATOR, AS PER “GOD’S WILL”

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles)  – GMA News is reporting that Filipino champion boxer Manny Pacquiao has confirmed that he is running for senator of the Philippines, with the blessings of his wife, mother and God.

The congressman from the province of Saranggani follows in the footsteps of Governor from the U.S. State of Wisconsin, Scott Walker, who when he announced he was seeking the Republican nomination for president in the 2016 elections, said it was all “God’s plan.”

The eight-division boxing champ did not say under whose ticket he would run.

His wife Jinky, who is the vice governnor of Saranggani supports his decision, and his mother, Mommy Dionisia, gave her blessing, saying it is God’s will for her son to run for national office.

It wasn’t clear whether or not Pacquiao will retire from boxing as a result of his candidacy. He lost to American Floyd Mayweather in last May’s “Fight of the Century” in Las Vegas.

As a congressman, he holds the distinction of the legislator with the most number of absences. (Well, to be fair, he was out training and fighting).

Back to Scott Walker.  He has, since then, dropped out of the U.S. presidential race.  Apparently, God’s “plan” changed.

Will God change His mind for Pacquiao as well?

Stay tuned!

KIM DAVIS INVITED TO ADDRESS GAY CATHOLICS DURING SUNDAY’S CASTRO STREET FAIR IN SAN FRANCISCO

SAN FRANCISCO, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – Some 300,000 people are expected to descend upon Castro Street in San Francisco’s gay district on Sunday for the annual Castro Street Fair. This year, organizers promised there will be more booths and booze, and dozens of commercial vendors selling non-gay merchandise.

The all-day festivities will commence with a mass to be held at The Most Holy Redeemer (MHR) Church on Diamond Street in the heart of the Castro.

The Catholic parish is home to many gay Catholics living in the district and elsewhere in San Francisco and the East Bay.

For its Catro Street Fair edition, Sunday’s mass will feature Rowan County (KY) clerk Kim Davis who will address the congregation in lieu of the usual homily by the pastor, Father Matt Link.

Link told The Adobo Chronicles that MHR’s invitation to Davis, who spent time in jail for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, is in keeping with the parish’s welcoming and all-inclusive policy and reputation.

“All are welcome here — gay, straight, children, pets, Catholics, non-Catholics, Agnostics, Atheists, and yes, even bigots,” Link said.

After the mass, there will be an opporunity for the congregation to dialogue with Davis at the pancake breakfast in the church’s auditorium.

Suggested donation at the door is $6.99 per person, but no one will be turned away for inability to pay.
