Both Duterte and the Bishops have been in headlines recently because of a word war in which CBCP bewailed the ‘escalating violence’ in the country following the murder of yet another priest.  Duterte, on the other hand, threatened to publish a list of names of Catholic Clergy who he says have illicit affairs with women.

You can still vote in the poll HERE.

Vatican To Investigate Miracle Attributed To Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo!

AD7C276E-DFC9-4C21-ADD6-6428694A9A94THE VATICAN (The Adobo Chronicles, Rome Bureau) – Miracles are usually attributed to dead holy men and women awaiting to be canonized as saints by the Roman Catholic Church.  But The Vatican is now investigating a miracle that is being attributed to Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo who is very much alive.

It all happened on June 12, 2018, during ceremonies commemorating the Philippines’ 120th anniversary of its Independence from Spain.

Garbed in an off-shoulder dress, Robredo — disregarding conventional protocol — executed a salute to the Philippine flag.  Lo and behold, snow suddenly poured from the sky, drenching her and others in attendance.  It was quite a relief from the hot and humid weather that Manila was experiencing just days before.

It doesn’t snow in the Philippines.  In fact it only has two seasons, the wet and dry seasons.

The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) reported the incident to The Vatican which is now investigating the supernatural occurrence.

Will Robredo be the new “living saint” now that Mother Theresa has moved on to the next world?

Book By Filipino Author Makes It To Number One In NYT Bestseller’s List, Thanks To Duterte.

94C0863A-0648-4572-8670-4151E98C911B.jpegNEW YORK, New York (The Adobo Chronicles, New York Bureau) – A controversial book authored by a Filipino just made it to the top of New York Times’ Bestseller list, thanks to an unexpected promoter, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte.

The book, “Altar of Secrets,’ tackles the issue of sex, politics and money in the Philippine Catholic Church.  It was written by Aries Rufo.

During a meeting with members of the Filipino community in South Korea, Duterte presented the book as a gift to two ladies from the audience.

A videotape of the event — including the President kissing one of the ladies on the lips — went viral.

As a result, Amazon and bookstores all over the world sold out all their book inventory and the publishers had to order an urgent reprint to meet the demand.

This is the first time that a book by a Filipino author made it to No. 1 in the NYT list.
