TACLOBAN, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles) – Miracles do happen, even between the fiercest of political rivals like the Aquino and Marcos families of the Philippines.

Yellow has always been the symbolic color of the opposition to the regime of the late president Ferdinand E. Marcos. It was the color of the people’s power revolution that led Marcos to flee the Philippines in 1986. It has been the color of the administration of the late President Cory Aquino. It continues to be the color of the current administration of President NoyNoy Aquino.

Needless to say, former First Lady Imelda Romualdez Marcos shunned the color yellow and so did her children, Senator Bongbong Marcos and Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos.

In the spirit of forgiveness and brotherly/sisterly love as espoused by the visiting Pope Francis, the feuding families have finally reconciled.

Proof?

For the first time in 28 years, Imelda Romualdez Marcos who was in rainy and windy Tacloban City to attend the papal mass Saturday, wore yellow, albeit a raincoat.

THANKS TO POPE FRANCIS, FILIPINO THEOLOGIAN FINDS NEW CAREER AS A MOVIE STAR

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles) – All eyes and ears were on Pope Francis as he celebrated mass before an all-clergy audience at the Manila Cathedral on Friday. But only until a theologian took to the lectern to sing the responsorial psalm.

Meet Kenneth Rey Parsad from the Diocese of Bangued, Abra in Northern Philippines.

He captivated the congregation and millions who watched a telecast of the event not only with his singing voice, but with his good looks, very good looks.

Soon after the mass, ABS-CBN signed him up for a new teleserye with a working title, “Forgive Me Father For I have Sinned.” Newly-wed Marian Rivera will play the lead actress role opposite Parsad.

Viva Films (which just changed its name to Viva il Papa Films) is reportedly considering Parsad to star in an upcoming film epic, ‘Padre Damaso.’

Blessings come in strange ways, and Parsad has no one to thank but Pope Francis.

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles) – Like a kid in a candy store, presidential sister and TV personality Kris Aquino excitedly posted photos on her Instagram account of her ‘private’ meeting with visiting Pope Francis during the latter’s first stop in Malacañang, the Philippine presidential palace.

It wasn’t really a private meeting as hundreds of other dignitaries and guests with Malacañang connections were there as well, as seen in the photos.

She took the opportunity to show Pope  Francis the rosary that she claimed was given by the pontiff to her son Josh during a previous visit to the Vatican.

What Kris didn’t say in her Instagram post was that after she kissed the Pope’s ring and showed him the rosary, Francis said, “And who are you again?”
