MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Vice President Leni Robredo has moved up from 6th to 5th spot in the Pulse Asia survey on Filipino voter preferences for the 2022 Philippine Presidential elections.
This developed as Manila Mayor Isko Moreno reiterated he has no plans of running for President in 2022.
Moreno ranked 4th in the survey, behind Sara Duterte, Bongbong Marcos and Grace Poe.
With Moreno “withdrawing” from the race, Manny Pacquiao moved up to 4th spot, and Robredo to 5th.
As they always say in the Miss Universe Pageant, “if for any reason the winner is unable to fulfill her duties, the first runner-up will become Miss Universe…”
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – For prematurely sending Leni Robredo to the after life, a Philippine national news daily, the Manila Bulletin is being sued by the Vice President for cyber libel.
The case stems from the newspaper’s online news headline that referred to “Robredo’s remains” in a story relating to a recent Pulse Asia survey showing Robredo in a distant 6th spot among possible 2022 “Presidentiables.”
This is the second infamous cyber libel case brought forth against Philippine news media. Many will recall that a private individual sued Rappler CEO Maria Ressa for the same crime, resulting in her conviction by the courts.
Robredo told The Adobo Chronicles that she will not take this malicious headline sitting down. “I will fight this case to the end, with my life,” she said in a statement prepared by her speechwriter.
