Cebu Politics: Rowena’s Burden Of Proof

In the grand circus of Cebu politics, Dr. Rowena Burden, the self-proclaimed savior of political morality, finds herself donning the crown of irony.

Oh, the irony! For months, she paraded around as the virtuous crusader, promising to unveil the skeletons in Governor Gwen Garcia’s closet. With a penchant for pointing fingers, she even scolded Bongbong Marcos for his affiliation with the Garcia family, conveniently forgetting her own alliances with drama.

Now, the tables have turned, and Burden is scrambling to dodge the cyber libel accusations hurled her way. The good doctor seems to have misplaced her prescription for political correctness.

It appears that the burden of proof now rests on her shoulders, as she attempts to convince the court that her attacks were mere acts of benevolence and not a well-choreographed vendetta.

As we grab our popcorn, let’s marvel at the spectacle of a political mess, where the healer becomes the patient, and the doctor must cure her own case of foot-in-mouth disease. Oh, how the mighty have fallen into the pit of their own hubris!

Envious Of The Senate, HOR Wants To Relocate to BGC

The House of Representatives has unleashed House Resolution 1390, a masterstroke calling for the formation of an ad hoc committee to ponder the radical notion of moving to Bonifacio Global City (BGC). Forget the pressing issues of the nation; what the country really needs is a new address for our lawmakers.

The current Batasang Pambansa building in Quezon City, a relic of the past, apparently lacks the sparkle and pizzazz that the halls of power truly deserve.

Evidently, the House is suffering from Senate envy, green with envy at the impending move of their upper-house counterparts to a state-of-the-art building in BGC. Because nothing says “good governance” like relocating to the trendiest part of the city.

While the nation grapples with genuine concerns, it’s reassuring to know that our representatives have their priorities straight – new digs. After all, the best way to address the country’s challenges is with a change of scenery for our esteemed lawmakers.
