PRESIDENT OBAMA TO TACKLE JUSTIN BIEBER PETITION IN HIS STATE OF THE UNION

imageWashington, D.C. – Whether making a major policy speech, in the campaign trail, or in his annual State Of The Union, President Barack Obama is known to keep making changes and edits till the very last minute.  Tonight is no exception.

When he delivers his fifth State Of The Union tonight, Obama is reportedy adding a new paragraph that will respond to an online petition demanding the deportation of pop star Justin Bieber. Bieber, a Canadian citizen, has had many encounters with U.S. law enforcement, including his latest charges of and booking for DUI, resisting arrest and drag racing. The petition also asks for the revocation of Bieber’s green card.

The petition, posted on The White House “We The People” website, is nearing 100,000 signatures, the threshold that would elicit an official White House response.

The new paragraph is reportedly being inserted into the part where Obama addresses the issue of immigration reform.

INDIA’S BRILLIANT IDEA FOR GUN-CONTROL

The Pink Lady

New Delhi, India – India may just have found the solution towards gun control, and other countries are closely watching.

A gun company in this nation of 1.2 Billion people has just manufactured a gun designed for women: light, sleek and pink. The idea of a pink pistol came about as a result of increasing rape and violence against women. In its marketing campaign, the gun manufacturer says that “it is time women started carrying guns to protect themselves from rapists and attackers.”

Now, the Indian Parliament is considering passing a legislation that would ban the manufacture of all guns, except the pink pistol.  The measure is expected to reduce gun ownership among men who constitute 77 percent of all gun owners. The legislators believe that the pink pistol will discourage men who are much concerned about their “macho” image from purchasing this deadly weapon.

Under the proposed legislation, current gun owners will be given six months from the passage of the law to surrender their firearms or trade them in for pink pistols.

The American National Rifle Association (NRA) is reportedly very nervous about this Indian legislation and has mobilized its top lobbyists in Washington, D.C. to make sure that no such legislation is introduced in the U.S. Congress.

‘PORK BARREL QUEEN’ JANET NAPOLES WILL GET A V.I.P. ROOMMATE AT HER DETENTION CELL

imageLaguna, Philippines – A tale of two women. Former Philippine president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Janet Lim-Napoles. Both in detention, one in a government hospital in Manila and the other in a special bungalow suite inside a military compound in Santa Rosa, Laguna, south of the Philippine capital.

Arroyo is under hospital arrest for corruption and plunder charges committed while she was president while Napoles is the suspected mastermind of a multi-billion peso pork barrel scam which siphoned taxpayer money into phony non-governmental organizations .

This week, lawmakers aligned with President Noynoy Aquino demanded that both women be transferred to a regular jail to dispel suspicions that they were being given special treatment despite the gravity of the charges against them.

However, for security reasons, Aquino came up with a compromise. Arroyo will be transferred to Napoles’ bungalow in Santa Rosa. In other words, the women will be roommates.

One question remains: which woman will take the bedroom and which will take the couch?
