Senator Trillanes To Stage A 2-Day Coup To Prove BBC Wrong

IMG_2348MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – During that now infamous live interview by BBC’s Stephen Sackur with Antonio Trillanes, the Philippine senator was ridiculed by the talk show host for staging several coups that only lasted a day or so.

Leave it to Trillanes’ ego to stage a comeback.

Reliable sources have told The Adobo Chronicles that Trillanes is plotting yet another coup — this time it will be for a full 48 hours — just to prove that BBC and Sackur were wrong in maligning his military and political career and that he was only good for 24 hours.

As for his claim during the interview that the Filipinos’ drug of choice was marijuana, not shabu (crystal meth), Trillanes said that he will apply for a patent that would rename shabu to marijuana.

No one can mess with Trillanes.  Not even the BBC!

Trillanes, Hontiveros, et. al., Want A Senate Hearing On U.S. Destroyer Collision Off Japan

IMG_2239MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The new Senate minority bloc, known as Voltes V, has called for a hearing on the recent collision between a U.S. Destroyer and a Philippines-registered cargo ship off the coast of Japan.

The destroyer suffered heavy damage, injuries and possible casualties.

“We owe it to our good friend Donald Trump to show him that we, the duly-elected senators of the Philippines, are very concerned about the freak accident,” a statement from the block said.

IMG_1850Voltes V is composed of Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon and Senators Antonio Trillanes IV, Kiko Pangilinan, Risa Hontiveros, and Bam Aquino.

“We haven’t had a Senate hearing for the last few days now, so this is the perfect opportunity to who our constituents and supporters that we are working very hard to live up to their expectations,” Hontiveros told The Adobo Chronicles.

Trillanes added that they want to know whether or not the captain of the cargo vessel had a valid driver’s license from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) as well as a current vehicle insurance. “More importantly” he said, “we want to know if President Duterte had anything to do with the collision.”

Today, PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENCE DAY, we take a break from our satire to pay tribute to the heroes of Marawi City — members of the police and military who have sacrificed their lives to defend our Republic.

Our thoughts are also with those who continue to put their lives on the line so that peace will finally come to Marawi and the rest of Mindanao.

Mabuhay po kayo!
