PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (The AdoboChronicles, Bangkok Bureau) –
The Philippines makes history next month when an all-Filipina team of athletes parade at the opening ceremonies of the Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) in Cambodia.
But that’s not all.
An all-LGBTQ team of athletes will represent our Pearl of the Orient at the closing parade.
Leave it to the Philippines to be the leader of gender equality and respect for sexual identity not only in Southeast Asia but throughout the world!
LAS PIÑAS, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Las Piñas Bureau). At an undisclosed location in Las Piñas, subdivision mogul Senator Cynthia Villar was caught on video going berserk over a roadblock that she demanded be taken down.
In her rage, she questioned whether a security guard was gay.
Well, now the private security guard is suing the Senator for oral defamation, saying that the now viral video placed his sexuality in question.
“I’m as straight as a rod,” the guard said, as he appealed to the LGBTQ community to support him in his classic lawsuit against a very powerful politician and businesswoman.
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Was it parody? Was it a typo? Was it a photoshop job?
These were the lingering questions that followed a viral photo showing that in a Land Transportation Office (LTO) district office, LGBTQ was included in a service priority lane, along with senior citizens, persons with disability and pregnant women.
Well, finally, the LTO district office concerned manned up to the issue — and defended it.
Their response was presumably an attempt at damage control, but it was more laughable and ludicrous than parody, typo or photoshop.
