Donald Trump Proposes Single World Time Zone

imageNEW YORK, New York (The Adobo Chronicles) – When it comes to business and time management, billionaire Donald Trump speaks with great authority, that’s why he is where he is now.

In a new major campaign policy proposal, the Republican presidential candidate believes that there should only be one time zone across the world, and he makes his case for it.

“It takes 26 hours before all countries ring in the New Year,” he says, because each country and each region have their own time zones. “Why can’t the entire world celebrate New Year all at the same time?”

Trump also lamented the fact that U.S. television “live broadcasts” are not really live because viewers on the West coast are three hours behind New York.

“As a businessman, I know how it is important for transactions to be conducted in real time, not when people in Asia are fast asleep,” he said, adding, ” so we need to totally eliminate the Pacific, Mountain, Central and Eastern Standard Times, as well as the International Dateline.”

Trump also  pointed out that even with national elections, the winners are already determined even when the polling places on the U.S. West Coast have not yet closed.

So, if Trump becomes president, you can forget about EST, PST, or GMT.  There will only be one time zone, WTZ (World Time Zone).

Miss Colombia’s De-Crowning No Big Deal, Not The First Time It Happened

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (The Adobo Chronicles) – It’s been called “the worst disaster in award show history,” “an epic fail,” and a “conspiracy” to boost the sagging ratings of the Miss Universe pageant and promote Steve Harvey’s television career.

Yes, we’re talking about last Sunday’s Miss Universe gaffe in which Harvey first announced the wrong winner, Miss Colombia, as the new title holder.  We now know that it was Miss Philippines who had actually won the competition.

But for devoted followers of beauty pageants, they know that this was not the first time a beauty queen was de-crowned.

In 2014, Synthia Nath sued the organizers of the Miss Globe New Zealand pageant after being stripped of her winner title that, according to organizers, belonged to “another Indian girl.”

The New Zealand Herald reported Nath, a 19-year-old Fiji native, was mistaken for the real winner of the pageant, which officials said was “another Indian” contestant named Loriza Latif. Organizers of the pageant said it was an “honest mistake” because the two girls “look alike.”

A year earlier, a judicial court in the Philippines ordered the organizers of a local beauty pageant, Mutya ng Pilipinas, to pay the amount of 1.1 Million pesos in damages to a dethroned winner in 1977, Esabela Cabrera.

Cabrera was stripped of the title and organizers gave the crown to first runner-up Annie Moraga, in addition to the cash and other prizes that would have gone to Cabrera.

Cabrera sued for the “lack of due processs” in stripping her of her title.

Now, now, don’t give Miss Colombia any ideas about suing the Miss Universe Organization for her botched title. (Although some Colombian lawyers have already thought of that, apparently!)

Donald Trump Calls For An End To All Beauty Pageants

imageNEW YORK, New York (The Adobo Chronicles) – Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has run out of controversial campaign statements and has turned his attention to beauty pageants.

The former owner of the Miss U.S.A. and Miss Universe pageants is now calling an end to all international beauty contests.

Riding on the coattails of the recent Miss Universe fiasco in which pageant host Steve Harvey announced the wrong winner (Miss Colombia) only to correct himself later saying it was Miss Philippines who had won the title, Trump says beauty pageants are degrading to women.

Trump’s comments came after an op-ed piece in salon.com argued that the great Miss Universe mixup offers an excellent moment to call for an end to beauty pageants. “Once upon a time, feminists openly condemned such contests, and with good reason. But then, somehow, it became unfashionable to object to parading young women around and assigning them numerical ratings like cattle at the marketplace,” the article said.

Asked by The Adobo Chronicles if it wasn’t hypocritical of him to call for a total ban of beauty contests considering he himself owned pageants in the past, Trump said, ‘that was pure business. I am a businessman.’

‘Don’t get me wrong. I love beautiful women, and beautuful women love me,’ he added.
