Araw Ng Kagitingan: Let’s Not Cower In Fear Of China

Screenshot

In a grand display of paradoxical patriotism, the Philippines rebrands historical defeats as triumphs, celebrating valor in the face of adversity while grappling with modern challenges. While “Araw ng Lagitingan” (formerly “Fall of Bataan”) commemorates resilience, the irony isn’t lost on observers as politicians preach about Filipino courage yet shrink from confronting contemporary threats.

As China’s shadow looms large, the call for defending sovereignty rings hollow amidst political quibbling and fearmongering.

When the president asserts national rights, skeptics emerge, decrying potential conflict and predicting doom, conveniently forgetting their cries for a stronger leader. It’s a tragicomic spectacle where valorous pasts collide with present-day hesitations, exposing the contradictions of political rhetoric.

In this theater of absurdity, the narrative of bravery serves as a mask for political timidity, leaving the nation stranded between historical glory and contemporary caution.

Marcos Walks His Talk; Maharlika And Ilks, Well…

In a shocking turn of events, President Bongbong Marcos has defied the norms of Philippine politics by actually walking his talk.

While other government figures and vloggers thrive on a diet of lies and baseless claims, Marcos has taken a radical approach: honesty. His recent statements regarding Chinese aggression in the South China Sea were not only refreshing but backed by evidence. To the dismay of his detractors, he even managed to rally support from major international players like the U.S., Japan, and Australia.

Meanwhile, amidst the sea of misinformation propagated by the likes of Maharlika, Chong, Chu, Roque, Cruz-Angeles, Lopez, and Sasot, the DDSheets continue to chase ghosts, eagerly discussing non-existent videos as if they were the holy grail of truth.

It seems President Marcos has stumbled upon a novel concept in politics: telling the truth and actually doing something about it. Who knew such a radical notion could take hold in the Philippines?

PH Supreme Court Decision On Trillanes Should Be Enough To Keep ICC Out Of The Country

In a stunning twist of irony, the Philippine Supreme Court, dominated by Duterte’s own appointees, has struck down his attempt to revoke Antonio Trillanes’ amnesty. With 13 out of 15 justices owing their seats to Duterte, it’s a remarkable display of judicial independence—so remarkable that it’s almost comical.

This bold move proves that the Philippine justice system is functioning flawlessly, obviating any need for meddling by international bodies like the ICC. Duterte, ever the paragon of legal virtue, insists on facing local courts but draws the line at foreign scrutiny. Now, as a mere citizen, Duterte may find himself facing the very justice system he once championed.

But fear not, for the beacon of domestic justice shines bright, or so we’re told. Unless, of course, we still harbor a peculiar fondness for international fingers poking into our legal affairs.
