Philippines Needs A National Fentanyl Awareness Day

Screenshot

As the opioid crisis tightens its grip worldwide, the Philippines finds itself at the forefront of a new battle: the fight against Fentanyl abuse. With a former president allegedly exhibiting the telltale signs of addiction, the need for awareness has never been more pressing. Instituting a Fentanyl Awareness Day akin to the U.S.’s initiative is not just a suggestion but a necessity.

Just as the war on drugs rallied national attention, so too must we mobilize against this insidious threat, which corrodes not only individual lives but the very fabric of our society. From shattered relationships to weakened governance, Fentanyl’s reach knows no bounds.

It’s time for Senator Bato de la Rosa and lawmakers to shift their focus from the streets to the pharmacy shelves, initiating hearings and legislation to combat this silent epidemic before it claims more victims. The clock is ticking, and ignorance is no longer an option.

All this, in the name of “in aid of legislation.”

Wanted: Gentlemen’s Agreement To Speak The Truth And Nothing But…

In the illustrious saga of the South China Sea disputes, the plot thickens with the emergence of the elusive “Gentlemen’s agreement” – a diplomatic unicorn attributed to various Philippine administrations faster than a game of hot potato.

Like a clandestine handshake in a dimly lit room, its existence is as murky as the disputed waters themselves. With former President Duterte passing the buck faster than a hot potato, and now the Marcos administration allegedly joining the fray, one wonders if these gentlemen are more like chameleons, changing colors to suit the political climate.

China, ever the eager player, has stepped onto the stage, lamenting the breach of said agreement with the fervor of a spurned lover.

But amidst the diplomatic tango, one truth remains: someone is fibbing faster than a toddler caught with their hand in the cookie jar. In this theater of the absurd, the only certainty is the audience – left scratching their heads, wondering if they’ve stumbled into a comedy or a tragedy.

Why Bongbong Marcos Was Excluded From The Latest SWS Survey

In the latest episode of “As the Survey Turns,” bloggers like Mark Anthony Lopez are scratching their heads and wondering why President Bongbong Marcos was left out of the recent SWS survey on top officials’ performance ratings. The results revealed Vice President Sara Duterte leading with 61%, prompting conspiracy theories worthy of a political thriller.

Could it be that the pollsters were doing a big favor to Duterte, conveniently omitting Marcos to preserve her narrative as the darling of the masses? After all, in previous surveys, Duterte consistently outshone Marcos, but this time, the tables might have turned. Perhaps the draft of the survey hinted at Marcos overtaking Duterte’s lead by a landslide, sending shockwaves through the Duterte camp and leaving them scrambling for explanations faster than a politician dodging a tough question.

Of course, it’s all just speculation for now. Only SWS holds the key to this tantalizing mystery.
