PARIS, France (The Adobo Chroniles, Paris Bureau) – A new study published by the Trans Atlantic Treaty Organization (TATO) has identified a single model of disinformation in the Philippines which contradicts a similar study published by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
The NATO study points to four models of disinformation in the Philipppines, including what it describes as “state-sponsored” model that leads to the “silencing, self-censorship, and chilling effects among dissenters, and the public.”
The TATO study, on the other hand, points to a single model of disinformation perpetrated by the Yellow kind (political Opposition), that aims for the disenfranchisement of the legitimately-established government while desperately seeking to regain long-lost power and influence.
Neither Malacañang nor the Opposition has commented on the TATO study.
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) -What will Manila Water and Maynilad do with a total of P10.8 Billion awarded to them by the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA)?
Invest in more water!
PCA has ordered the Philippine national government to pay the Ayala-owned Manila Water P7.4 Billion and Manny Pangilinan’s Maynilad P3.4 Billion for losses the two water concessionaires incurred due to rejected water hikes back in 2015.
In a joint statement issued today, the two firms announced they will invest their award in bottled water. “We always like to invest our money in more profitable ventures,” the statement said.
The bottled water — bearing the brand Manila Water and Maynilad — will be available to consumers starting this December, but only in Ayala Malls nationwide.
SM Malls have their own bottled water distributed under their Bonus brand.
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – President Rodrigo Duterte has vowed to block the renewal of the broadcasting franchise of the ABS-CBN Network which expires in March of next year.
Duterte’s public statement sent chills to fans of the long-running ABS-CBN teleserye, “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”
But no worries, fans. GMA 7 has agreed to absorb the teleserye and is prepared to sign a 10-year contract with its producers.
