Leni Robredo To Sue Manila Bulletin For Cyber Libel!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – For prematurely sending Leni Robredo to the after life, a Philippine national news daily, the Manila Bulletin is being sued by the Vice President for cyber libel.

The case stems from the newspaper’s online news headline that referred to “Robredo’s remains” in a story relating to a recent Pulse Asia survey showing Robredo in a distant 6th spot among possible 2022 “Presidentiables.”

This is the second infamous cyber libel case brought forth against Philippine news media. Many will recall that a private individual sued Rappler CEO Maria Ressa for the same crime, resulting in her conviction by the courts.

Robredo told The Adobo Chronicles that she will not take this malicious headline sitting down. “I will fight this case to the end, with my life,” she said in a statement prepared by her speechwriter.

Sara Duterte, Ely Pamatong In Virtual Tie in 2022 Presidential Poll

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The 2022 Philippine Presidential Election is not that far away, so already, names are being floated on who the top contenders — popularly known as “Presidentiables”— are.

A poll conducted by The Adobo Chronicles mirrors a similar survey by Pulse Asia, except for the top spot.

In the AC poll, Presidential daughter Sara Duterte is in a virtual tie with Ely Pamatong.

Pamatong  is a Filipino lawyer, politician, and the self-proclaimed President of the Philippines known for his attempts to participate in Presidential elections. He was declared a nuisance candidate twice for his attempted candidacy for President in 2004 and 2010 by the Commission on Elections.

Indeed, the 2022 elections will be closely watched by the entire world, and could yet again put the Philippines in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Rodrigo Duterte Ordered Arrested!

MANILA, Philippines ( The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Who needs the International Criminal Court (ICC) when the Philippines’ own self-proclaimed President has already ordered the arrest of Rodrigo Duterte?

In a New Year’s Day message to the Filipino people, Ely Pamatong announced his arrest order following what he says was Duterte’s crime of inoculating soldiers, particularly members of the Presidential Security Group with unregistered and unapproved Covid-19 vaccine from China.

The Philippine National Police has yet to receive the signed order from Pamatong..

This is a developing story.
