IN SILAY CITY, PHILIPPINES, FACE MASK VIOLATORS TURN INTO ZOMBIES

SILAY CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Iloilo Bureau) – In the southern city of Silay, Negros Occidental province in the Philippines, Filipinos are turning into zombies, or at least are being paraded as such.

Law enforcement authorities are rounding up health protocol violators, those who don’t wear face masks as required under the country’s Covid-19 community quarantine. But instead of a fine or jail time, the violators are being forced to march in the city’s streets, with hands outstretched like those we see in scary Hollywood movies.

In contrast, moneyed and influential Filipinos get a slap on the wrist, like those who recently attended a birthday part of celebrity Tim Yap where they were caught on video not wearing face masks and not observing physical distancing. They were fined P1,500 each, considered loose change for people of their stature.

Only in the Philippines.

LENI ROBREDO TO FILIPINOS: I’M NOT WORTH YOUR TIME

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – In what appears to be a concession that she is not worthy to become President, Leni Robredo appealed to all Filipinos to stop “wasting time” on her.

Wondering why her critics and online trolls are wasting their time going after her if they do not think she has a chance of winning the presidential elections, Robredo all but threw in the towel on the 2022 Philippine Presidential Elections.

Earlier, Liberal Party President Senator Kiko Pangilinan said that Robredo was still among those being considered to be the Opposition’s standard bearer in the 2022 Elections to pick Rodrigo Duterte’s successor.

A recent Pulse Asia Survey showed Robredo trailing other “Presidentiables” like Sara Duterte, Bongbong Marcos, Isko Moreno, Grace Poe and Manny Pacquiao.

This is a developing story.

Ted Baguilat Wants Leni Robredo To Run In 2022

BANAUE, Ifugao (The Adobo Chronicles, Baguio City Bureau) – Former Ifugao Congressman and Governor Ted Baguilat, Jr. wants Vice President Leni Robredo to run in the 2022 elections, but that may be just wishful thinking.

In a tweet, Baguilat said, “We need a new captain with better ideas and a person who can united us.”

However, Robredo may be ineligible to run for Barangay Captain in his province.

In Camarines Sur, maybe.
