BROWNOUT HELPS FILIPINOS NAVIGATE FLOODED STREETS

Manila,Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles) – Philippine President NoyNoy Aquino, who is in Europe enjoying fall weather, has praised the Manila Electric Company (MERALCO) for cutting off power in flooded Metro Manila.

In the last two days, half a month’s worth of heavy rains inundated most streets in the Metropolis, stranding thousands and thousands of commuters who had no way of getting back to their homes.

To enable commuters to navigate the floods and find alternative ways to get back to their homes, MERALCO announced a 48-hour brownout in all of Metro Manila. Soon after electricity was cut off, people started climbing up electric posts and used disabled electric wires to get from point A to point B to point C.

Filipinos praised the electric company for being responsive to the needs of the flood victims.

Meanwhile, The Adobo Chronicles learned that MERALCO will extend rebates to all power customers for the 48-hour brownout. So, who’s going to pay for the loss of power and its impact on homes and businesses? A MERALCO spokesperson said the company will bill the Aquino Administration, charged to the Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP) funds which had recently been declared unconstitutional by the country’s Supreme Court.

Hollywood, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – First, she revealed that she had eye surgery so that she would look less Asian to land an on-air TV job. Then she recently announced on her TV show that her grandfather was a polygamist.

‘Big Brother’ host Julie Chen has all the trimmings of a TV personality that would do everything to keep her ratings at the optimum level. And it seems to be working.

So what’s next?

Investigative reports from TMZ and People magazine may have uncovered what appeared like a three-year strategic plan prepared by her publicist in which her next major announcement would be that she is a transgender woman. It may seem to answer one of frequently asked questions about her low, baritone voice.

The Adobo Chronicles could not independently confirm the reports.

INVESTIGATION: JOAN RIVERS’ DOCTOR SUFFERING FROM SELFITIS

Atlanta, Georgia (The Adobo Chronicles) – CNN is now reporting that the late Joan Rivers’ doctor is suffering from Selfitis, a condition just recently classified by the American Psychiatric Association as a mental disorder.

On August 28, Rivers went into the Yorkville Endoscopy Clinic for an outpatient procedure on her vocal chords performed by Dr. Lawrence Cohen. Then, another doctor, identified by sources as Joan’s “personal ear-nose-throat physician” did a biopsy of her vocal cords. It was during the biopsy that Rivers went into cardiac arrest. She later died on September 4.

The CNN investigative report quotes an eyewitness who said that Joan’s personal doctor took a selfie photo inside the procedure room just before she stopped breathing. The photo was taken while Rivers was under anesthesia, according to the eyewitness, a “staff member” at Yorkville Endoscopy clinic.
