CUPERTINO, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – The charity bug has finally caught up with tech companies in the Silicon Valley.

Following yesterday’s announcement by Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg and wife Priscilla Chan that they will be donating 99% of their wealth to charity, Apple has followed suit with an even better deal.

Apple CEO Tim Cook is set to announce today that effective January 1, 2016, the tech giant will donate 100% of its assets to its stockholders, making it the world’s largest asset divestiture in history.

REVEALED: MARK ZUCKERBERG’S PLAN TO PHASE OUT FACEBOOK

MENLO PARK, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – What a difference a new-born baby makes.

To welcome the birth of their baby daughter Max, Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan announced a new initiative in which they will donate 99% of their wealth to charity. Most of that money, in excess of $45 Billion, is coming from Facebook, the highly successful social media network founded by Zuckerberg.

With just 1% of his assets remaining — after the donation — there is no way Zuckerberg can continue to sustain Facebook operations, and that’s a big concern among the social media network’s more than 1.5 Billion users.

That concern  was just confirmed today as Zuckerberg announced that he will be gradually phasing out Facebook in the next 5 years or so.  He and Priscilla will be focusing on raising their daughter in an environment free of social media.

This latest announcement by Zuckerberg energized the people behind ELLO, the Facebook-like social media network launched last year but didn’t quite take off fabulously as anticipated.

So if you’re a Facebook addict or if your social life is totally based on Zuckerberg’s Internet platform, it’s time to make plans for the future  — the very near future in fact.

DEMOCRATIC LAWMAKERS PROPOSE MOVING THANKSGIVING DAY TO WEDNESDAY

imageWASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles) – Beginning next year, Thanksgiving Day will no longer be on a Thursday.  It will be on a Wednesday. That is, if Democrats can have their way.

Democratic lawmakers are proposing a new law that would reschedule one of the major U.S. holidays to better coincide with the various shopping ‘sale’ days attached to Thanksgiving week.

“Everything seems to be shifting a day earlier,” Senator Harry Reid said. “Black Friday now starts on Thursday, Small Business Shopping  Saturday now begins on Friday, and Cyber Monday now kicks off on Sunday.”

“It therefore makes sense to move Thanksgiving Day from Thursday to Wednesday,” Reid said.

For many, it would mean a 5-day holiday weekend that starts Wednesday.

If passed, the new law would also mean that there will be no stock trading on Wall Street for a full three days on Thanksgiving week, starting on Wednesday.
