Grammy Winner Tems Penalized For Designer Gown Worn On Oscar Night!

HOLLYWOOD, California (The Adobo Chronicles, Hollywood Bureau) – For some, including actors, directors and other film buffs, watching the Oscars live is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, especially if you never get nominated or invited to be a presenter and the Academy Awards gala. And it does cost money — the $750 admission ticket, the special made-to-order gowns or suit you wear that night, and the limousine rental, among other things.

But for at least 9 people, Oscar Night was a nightmare, with their view of the stage and ceremonies totally obstructed by the designer gown worn by Grammy winner Tems, a Nigerian singer and songwriter.

While she looked stunning during the arrival ceremonies, she became the object of ire of the 9 Hollywood celebrities directly around and behind her. They couldn’t see a thing of the Oscar ceremonies from where they were sitting.

Tems, 27, wore a dramatic white dress with a long train and huge shoulder piece that wrapped around her head

To appease the disenfranchised Hollywood celebrities, the Academy ordered Tems to reimburse the cost of the their tickets, plus damages which include the cost of gown/tux, limousine rental, and other incidental expenses supported by official receipts.

The Adobo Chronicles learned that Tems will split the total claim/damages with the designer of her gown, Los Angeles- based fashion designer Lessja Verlingieri of Lever Couture.
