The Rainbowization Of San Francisco’s Gay Castro Street

image.jpegSAN FRANCISCO, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Francisco Bureau) – As if the giant rainbow flag at San Francisco’s Market and Castro streets were not enough to let people know they are in the gayest district of the City by the Bay, the area’s pedestrian lanes were also painted ROYGBV  (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet).

But wait, that wasn’t quite enough either.  Today, the city unveiled the rainbow-colored lights lining the escalators leading to and from the Castro Street MUNI train station.

Just one more thing, and we’re all set.  What can we do to the famous MUNI F Line that begins and ends at Castro?

Aha! Don’t give Scott Wiener any ideas.

Wiener, who represents the Castro on the SF Board of Supervisors told The Adobo Chronicles  that on Monday, he will file a board resolution that would order MUNI to paint all of its trains on the F Line with the colors of the rainbow and decorate them with — what else — rainbow banners. He said that doing so will result in more tourist visits to the area and ultimately benefit the Castro Street businesses — at least those that continue to be open and afford the skyrocketing rent.

LGBT advocates, or anyone opposing the proposed measure are advised to show up at City Hall on Monday when the Board of Supes take up Wiener’s proposal.

This Is Not A Hoax: Pastor Prays Over Mayor Duterte So He And Bongbong Marcos Will Win Elections!

image.jpegSAN PEDRO, Laguna, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – We begin this news report with a disclaimer: THIS IS NOT A HOAX.

In one of perhaps the most awkward moments in Philippine political history, a pastor publicly prayed over Mayor Rodrigo Duterte asking the Almighty to bless the candidate so he will win the elections as the new president of the country.

It happened during a campaign rally attended by Duterte and his vice presidential running mate Senator Alan Cayetano.

But while the pastor prayed for Duterte, he also prayed for a vice presidential candidate to win the elections.  His name was not Alan Cayetano, but Bongbong Marcos.

Here is the video:

If Elected President, Mayor Duterte Wants Adobo Chronicles To Be Malacańang’s Press Office

image.jpegDAVAO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – In the U.S.,  Senator Ted Cruz shocked political circles when he announced his vice presidential running mate in the person of former GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina. This, despite the uncertainty of his being chosen his party’s nominee.

In the Philippines, presidential frontrunner Mayor Rodrigo Duterte shocked the Philippine media by announcing that if he is elected president, he would like The Adobo Chronicles  to be the official press office of his presidential palace.

The tough-talking and controversial mayor said he is fed up with the biased corporate and local media and their constant “twisting and turning” of his press interviews and statements.

“I want a press office that will tell the story truthfully and without any bias,” Duterte said.

We, at the Chronicles, have respectfully declined the offer and honor, but we continue to be committed to be always fair, balanced and funny just like the mayor, when reporting on news and developments from Duterte’s Malacañang.
