70EFCA82-B846-44A7-93D1-FB67833A4E58.jpegDUBAI, United Arab Emirates (The Adobo Chronicles, On board a commercial shipping vessel in the  U.A.E.) – Philippines’ Vice President Leni Robredo has announced plans to visit overseas Filipino workers in the Middle East as part of her INP project that promotes inspiring and success stories of Filipinos.

“May balak tayo sa Middle East, di ba, na magkaroon ng Istorya ng Pag-asa (We have plans in the Middle East, right, to have Istorya ng Pag-asa,” Robredo said.

“Iyong mga kababayan natin sa Middle East kasi mukhang sunod natin na Istorya ng Pag-asa (Our countrymen in the Middle East will be next to be featured for the Istorya ng Pag-asa),” she added.

The Vice President was sparse with details of the trip, which have yet to be finalized. There is no final date of the trip yet, according to Robredo’s office.

Upon learning of her plans, a region-wide coalition of Overseas Filipino Workers in the Middle East told The Adobo Chronicles that they plan to meet Robredo at airports on her arrival — not to welcome her but to demand that she fly back the the Philippines immediately.

A coalition spokesperson said that Robredo has no business telling the stories of OFWs. “We can tell our own stories — that of our love of our home country and our support for President Rodrigo Duterte. She’s just trying to find an excuse to make yet another international shopping trip.”

No comment yet from the Office of the Vice President.

Mike Pence And Leni Robredo To Hold Bilateral Vice Presidential Summit

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Birds of the same feather flock together, even if one is an American Eagle, the other a Philippine Eagle.

U.S. Vice president Mike Pence and Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo have both admitted that their only role is to “wait for something to happen to the President.’

Both Vice Presidents  also ageed that they need to start meeting each other more often for therapy to help ease the stress of their respective jobs (or no jobs).

No date has yet been set for the VP summit or which VP will host whom.

Leni Robredo A No-Show When News Media Mobbed Her Office Over Issue Of Water Crisis.

B54D5D27-C823-4D30-890B-30159967C395QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – In her most recent public statement, Vice President Leni Robredo said the government owes the public an explanation on the water crisis that hit parts of Metro Manila in recent weeks. And the local and foreign news media took her up on it.

Because President Rodrigo Duterte was a little indisposed yesterday, news reporters trooped to Robredo’s office in Quezon City to hear it directly from “the government.” After all, Robredo is the second highest official of the government.

Alas, the VP was a no-show.

Upon being tipped that the news reporters were on their way to the VP office,  Robredo took off via a back entrance.

Spokesperson Georgina Hernandez told The Adobo Chronicles that when the VP made the statement, she was referring to the Duterte administration of which she is an outsider.

Political analysts interpreted Hernandez’s explanation to mean that Robredo feels she is not the duly-elected VP since the electoral protest filed by her rival Senator Bongbong Marcos has not yet been fully resolved.

Many will recall that sometime last year, Robredo also issued a public statement saying that “the government” can no longer downplay the rising inflation rate in the country.”

A pattern akin to Julius Caesar washing his hands in public to escape responsibility.
