MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – In a recent visit to the headquarters of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Miss Universe Catriona Gray said she is considering joining her country’s military after her reign is over.
In the meantime, Gray says she would love to train with China’s “pink army,” the elite, all-women division of the country’s Armed Forces.
”I’m very impressed with their precision, skill and discipline, but also with how they maintain their beauty and womanhood while wearing their uniform,” Gray told The Adobo Chronicles.
The Filipina beauty queen says she hopes to emulate the Chinese women soldiers and instill the same kind of service, loyalty and beauty once she has joined the AFP.
QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The 2022 Philippines Presidential Election is three long years away but Vice President Leni Robredo is way ahead of the game.
Today, she formally launched her bid to succeed Rodrigo Duterte as the country’s next chief executive.
In an invitation-only press conference at Club Filipino, she unveiled the first of a series of campaign posters that she hopes will endear her to Filipino voters.
In a wise move that would allow her to circumvent Comelec (Commission on Elections) rules against early campaigning, her propaganda team designed the poster with her carricature but not her name. The poster simply says “Ready to be President.”
“This would make it difficult for opponents or Comelec to charge her for any campaign violation,” her PR team told The Adobo Chronicles.
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Yellow lanes. Coding. Provincial bus ban. Nothing seems to work to bring about a smooth flow of traffic along EDSA, Metro Manila’s busiest and longest thoroughfare.
Finally, the technocrats at the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) have come up with a new scheme which they are very confident will permanently solve EDSA’s traffic nightmare.
Patterned after the HOV (High Occupancy Vehicles) and carpool lane policies in place in the U.S. and other developed countries, the new MMDA scheme will throw out all traffic regulations in place and enforce a new, foolproof lane designation scheme from end to end on EDSA.
There will only be three designated lanes, one each for singles, those in a relationship, and those whose relationship status is complicated.
