DOT Revises ‘Love The Philippines’ Tourism Slogan!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Responding to demands and criticism, the Department of Tourism has finally relented to revising the “Love the Philippines” slogan.

It will be recalled that many Filipinos thought the slogan wasn’t catchy enough and that it has no clear message for foreigners to come visit the country.

The criticism was exacerbated with the release of a promo video that featured stock images from other countries.

But yesterday, officials and employees unanimously voted to adopt a new slogan:

“Love Christina Frasco!”

In The U.S., World’s First Flying Car; In The Philippines, First Flying Coffin!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration has certified for testing a vehicle that a California startup describes as a flying car— the first fully electric vehicle that can both fly and travel on roads to receive US government approval.

Alef Automotive said that its vehicle, dubbed the “Model A,” is drivable on public roads and able to park like a normal car. It also has vertical takeoff and landing capabilities. It apparently will be able to carry one or two occupants and will have a road-range of 200 miles and a flying range of 110 miles.

Meanwhile, in the Philippines, a funeral parlor has obtained a patent for the first flying coffin.

It is not quite the b24 bombers of World War II. Rather, it is a real coffin designed like an airplane.

The funeral home said that their new design – named AK (Angat Kabaong) will increase attendance at wakes given that many Filipinos are coffinphobic — or have the fear of looking at coffins.

The U.S. flying car is expected to sell at $300,000, while the Filipino flying coffin will retail at P30,000.
