MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Every year, on a day in the month of May, the town of Pulilan, Bulacan in the Phlippines, celerates the Kneeling Carabao Festival, during which carabaos are paraded in the streets and made to kneel in front of the church. It is definitely a sight to behold.
But it is not only carabaos that kneel in the Philippines. Even senators do.
Case in point: Senator Bato de la Rosa knelt in front of witness cops, begging them tell the truth during a Senate hearing.
“It’s not power-tripping,” the senator said.
Did he just trip off his chair then?
