Towel in Jollibee Chicken, Money In Red Ribbon Cake. What’s Going On?

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Today has not been a good day for popular business entities in the Philippines — Jollibee, famous for its Chicken Joy, and Red Ribbon, famous for its cakes.

The two food chains have been the target of consumer complaints that could potentially jeopardize their credibility and business.

A Jollibee customer complained that the Chicken Joy she ordered for take out contained a kitchen towel, while another complained that the birthday cake he ordered had U.S. dollars imbedded therein. Both assailed the lack of food safety, hygiene and sanitation by the said establishments.

The Jollibee customer plans to sue, while the Red Ribbon customer is still thinking about it.

This is a developing story.
