BAGUIO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Baguio Bureau) – It opened with much fanfare, but SM Baguio’s new sky terrace was a big disappointment to many residents.
“Some 60 mature pine and other trees were uprooted to give way to a shadeless promenade and synthetic green grass,” netizens complained.
But there is hope.
Coming at a time when Manila Bay donned a new look with imported dolomite from Cebu, SM Baguio is seriously considering replacing the synthetic grass with fake white sand.
”It would be quite an attraction to create a white sand beach atmosphere even without the benefit of a bay,” a spokesperson told The Adobo Chronicles. “We’ve seen how Manila Sands was well received by many.”
