QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – Philippine National Police Chief Oscard Albayalde today responded to a recent tweet by Edwin Lacierda, former spokesperson for ex-President Noynoy Aquino.
In a Twitter post, Lacierda questioned why Senator Leila De Lima must be accompanies by a throng of security police officers whenever she attends her court trial. He accused Albayalde of paranaoia. The tweet was accompanied by a photo of De Lima’s recent arrival in court.
In his response, Albayalde said that he is not taking any chances, and that the Opposition and De Lima’s supporters have vast resources that could enable them to “rescue” the Senator from captivity.
The police chief said, “what if the Opposition decided to hire Superman to snatch De Lima from the custody of my officers?”
It’s better to be safe than sorry.
