MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Libel suits seem to be in fashion these days.  There’s Senator Antonio Trillanes suing R.J. Nieto, a.k.a. Thinking Pinoy.  Then there’s The Adobo Chronicles suing Rappler and Maria Ressa.  Now even the Catholic Chrurch is joining in the fray.

Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle, the highest church official in the Philippines is suing Juana Change for comparing him to President Rodrigo Duterte.

“I am a man of God,” Tagle said. “Duterte is, well, a man.  There’s a big difference there.”

Tagle added:  “Duterte and I are both sinners, but the President is more sinful.  He has even cursed our god!”
