QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Vice President Leni Robredo came to the defense of Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, criticizing efforts to oust the latter through the quo warranto case now pending in the Supreme Court.
“Being a lawyer, I know that the Constitution provides for a continuous term for any sitting Chief Justice until he or she reaches the retirement age of 70.”
”She’s only 57 years old, so she is still covered by warranty,” Robredo said.
