MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Antonio Trillanes is suing R.J. Nieto, a.k.a. Thinking Pinoy over what the Philippine senator is calling ‘fake news’ regarding US President Donald Trump calling him ‘lil narco.’

Thinking Pinoy’s opinion post was based on a PhilStar column by Al Pedroche who has since apologized to Trillanes.  Trillanes also wanted Thinking Pinoy and another PhilStar columnist to apologize “for spreading fake news.”

Trillanes is suing for libel.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump, during an interview with reporters on board Air Force One said that he was also suing The Adobo Chronicles for its story claiming that Trillanes called him a ‘wacko.’

While Trillanes himself has not denied calling Trump a ‘wacko,’ Trump said there is no way that a respectable senator like Trillanes will resort to name calling.

The U.S. President is on a five-nation tour of Asia, culminating in the Philippines where he is expected to pay a personal visit to Trillanes.
