MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – In what is being described as “miraculously unprecedented,” supporters and critics alike of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte will hold a joint protest march at the Luneta during the Manila visit of Donald Trump.
The U.S. President is scheduled to be in the Philippines this November to attend the summit meeting of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Leaders of “Tindig Pilipinas,” an anti-Duterte movement and their Duterte counterparts secretly met at Club Filipino in Makati last night to finalize plans for the Million March.
Leading the protest march will be Senators Antonio Trillanes, Risa Hontiveros and Bam Aquino; Jim Paredes, Raissa Robles, Maria Ressa, Mocha Uson, Thinking Pinoy, Sass Rogando Sasot, and Imee Marcos who will lock hands throughout the rally.
President Duterte has given the go signal to provide incarcerated Senator Leila De Lima a one-day pass so she could participate in the march.
Is this the beginning of a United Philippines?
We have Trump to thank.
