MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – On Monday, August 21, Filipinos observe a national holiday, Ninoy Aquino Day.
Highlight of the commemoration will be the renaming of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) back to its original name, Manila International Airport (MIA).
The International Pilots Association (IPA) hailed the move. It will now be much easier to say MIA than NAIA when communicating with the air control towers.
They should NOT have changed the name in the first place. What benefits had they got changing it but to fatten their ego naming after their name?
