Adobo Chronicles Survey: 16 Out Of 100 Million Filipinos Oppose Duterte’s Declaration Of Martial Law In Mindanao

IMG_1761.PNGMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – It is the first survey ever conducted since President Rodrigo Duterte declared Martial Law in Mindanao.  It is also the first survey that included 100 Million respondents — that’s almost the entire population of the Philippines.

The single-question survey asked if respondents supported or opposed the Martial Law proclamation.

The results, with a plus or minus 3% margin of error, showed that 16 out of 100 Million Filipinos oppose Martial Law in Mindanao.  Not 16 million.  Sixteen Filipinos.

The 16 self-identified non-supporters of the Mindanao declaration are pictured above.

One other survey respondent opposed Duterte’s declaration, but her response was invalidated because she’s a psychopath:

CHR’s Chito Gascon Wants Maute Group’s Human Rights Protected

IMG_1735MARAWI CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Davao Bureau) – In his most direct response yet to the declaration of Martial Law in Mindanao, Philippine Commission on Human Rights’ Commissioner Chito Gascon has this to say to President Rodrigo Duterte: respect and uphold the human rights of the terrorist group, Maute.

In an exclusive interview with The Adobo Chronicles, Gascon said that “there is a reason we call it ‘human rights;’ every human being has a right.”

Asked what he would recommend to Duterte to protect the Maute group’s human rights, Gascon said:

“First, the Philippine military should determine the number of Maute group members now operating in Marawi City, then match it with the same, equal number of government soldiers engaged in fighting the rebels.  It is unfair that there are more troops than the rebels.”

“Second, the government troops must not use bombs or other sophisticated military equipment because it puts the rebels at a great disadvantage.”

So there you have it.  Filipinos can truly rely on the Commission on Human Rights to look after everyone’s welfare — rebels or not.

Filipinos’ Trust In UN, EU Drops; Trust In News Media Now Below Zero

IMG_0700MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Filipinos’ trust in the United Nations (UN) and the European Union (EU) has dropped, based on the Social Weather Stations’ (SWS) latest survey.

IMG_1723The SWS said that of the 1,200 adults surveyed from March 25 to 28, 58 percent have “much trust” and 13 percent have little trust in the UN while 27 percent were undecided.

In recent weeks, both the UN and EU have offended the pride and sensibilities of Filipinos with their statements or actions criticizing or condemning the Philippine 🇵🇭  government’s war on drugs and corruption.

Meanwhile, a still-unreleased SWiS Survey on Filipinos’ Trust in the news media shows that the rating has now dropped to below zero.  Survey respondents decried the fake and biased news they read or hear in legitimate news media like The Inquirer, Rappler, GMA News, ABS-CBN, New York Times, TIME, The Washington Post and CNN.

The below-freezing trust rating in news media is truly unprecedented.
