MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Last week, Philippine Vice President sent a video message to the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs alleging that there have been some 7,000 drug-related killings by the police and vigilantes since President Duterte took office on June 30 last year.
Robredo all but mimics the number often quoted by the biased local and international media as well as elements out to destabilize the Duterte government.
Today, speaking from her office at the Boracay Mansion in Quezon City, the VP finally admitted she committed a grave error in that video message.
“I originally wanted to say that the Philippines has more than 7,000 islands,” she said, “but somwhere along the way during the recording, I got too overwhelmed by the camera and lights that I blurted out 7,000 drug-related deaths instead of 7,000 islands.”
Yun naman pala eh. (So that explains it.)
