SAN FRANCISCO, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Francisco Bureau) –  In just the last 24 hours, hospital emergency rooms across the U.S. have reported a surge in admissions, mostly for PTSD.

Among the symptoms with which patients presented themselves at the ER include hypertension, migraines, vomiting, irritable bowel movement (IBM), nausea, vertigo, blurred vision and memory loss.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is advising all Americans who are experiencing any of these symptoms to seek medical help immediately.

Many Filipino Americans Are Now Without A President

IMG_6926.PNGSAN FRANCISCO, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Francisco Bureau) – We’ve heard about citizens without a country, but citizens without a president?  That’s what many Filipino Americans are facing right now after the election of Donald Trump as the 45th U.S. president.

Many Filipino Americans have been vocal about their opposition to duly-elected Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, known for his colorful language, controversial statements and actions in connection with his war on drugs.

Now, the same Filipino Americans are expressing their severe disappointment over Trump’s election, saying that he is not their president.

That leaves them without a president, come January 2017.

Truly unprecedented.

Canada To Build Wall Along Its Border With The U.S.

img_6921TORONTO, Canada (The Adobo Chronicles, New York Bureau) – Donald Trump’s campaign promise of building a great wall along the U.S.-Mexican border is being matched by Justin Trudeau.  The Canadian prime minister today announced that Canada will build a wall along its southern border with the United States.

The Canadian government’s announcement came just a day after Tuesday’s U.S. elections in which Trump was elected the 45th president.

Since Trump was announced the winner in the presidential contest, tens of thousands of Americans have started to act on their promise to move to Canada if Trump were elected.  Last night, the Canadian immigration website crashed due to unprecedented visits, mostly from U.S. citizens.

Fearing that that Canada will be overwhelmed by Americans fleeing the U.S., Trudeau said that his government has decided to build a wall all along the U.S.-Canada border.

But unlike Trump’s plan, Trudeau said that Canada will pay for the building of the wall. (Trump has said that Mexico will pay for the southern border wall.)

Meanwhile, pro-Clinton Californians are pressuring Governor Jerry Brown to make good on his promise that if Trump is elected, he will build a wall around the entire state of California.
