NEW YORK, New York (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – NBC has put in development ‘Mail Order Family,’ a half-hour comedy from ‘Superstore’ writer-producer Jackie Clarke.
Written and executive produced by Clarke, ‘Mail Order Family‘ is loosely based on Clarke’s family. It follows a widowed single father who orders a mail-order bride from the Philippines to help raise his two preteen daughters.
Today, NBC announced it has launched a search for a Filipina or Filipina American actress who will play the lead role in the series.
NBC said that no previous acting experience is required but that the actress they are looking for must be a real-life mail-order bride. “We want the acting to be very realistic,” the producers told The Adobo Chronicles.
Interested Filipinas are advised to contact NBC directly by mailing a selfie photo in a wedding gown.
