QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – It’s official : Senator Chiz Escudero is stepping down to pursue his newly-found career as a celebrity makeup artist.
Escudero, who unsuccessfully ran for vice president of the Philippines in the last elections, made his announcement on GMA-7. The television network is reportedly helping promote his career by launching a new prime-time show called ‘Beauty Tips Ni Chiz.’
A preview of the upcoming show was recently aired on GMA, featuring Chiz and his celebrity wife Heart Evangelista.
This is the first time in Philippine political history that an elected official is giving up politics in favor of a professional career in private life. It is usually the other way around: actors, journalists and champion boxers quit their career to enter politics.
There is always a first time for everything.

Cray bought a 24-karat gold cross pendant and necklace as a souvenir from Rio. Others in the team bought gold bracelets and wrist watches.
They came back to the Olympic village happy and ecstatic for the great bargain they found in Rio.
Cray, 27, failed to qualify for the final after coming up 7th of 8 competitors in the first semifinal heat with a time of 49.37 seconds. His personal best time is 48.98 seconds. Only the top two finishers from each semifinal heat will advance to the final along with the next two fastest runners.
