MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – With 95 percent of precincts reporting, the unofficial tally of Monday’s Philippine presidential elections clearly shows a winner: Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.

Previously, runners-up Senator Grace Poe and former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas have both conceded to Duterte.

Today, Roy Señeres (R.I.P.) became the third candidate to concede.

That leaves Miriam Defensor-Santiago and Vice President Jejomar Binay. (Binay had issued a message on social media asking Filipinos to respect the election results, but has not officially conceded).

BATAC, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The latest partial, unofficial tally of the Philippines’ vice presidental contest shows Liberal Party candidate Leni Robredo slightly ahead of Senator Bongbong Marcos.  So far, more than 90 percent of the votes from the country’s various precincts have been counted.

The VP race remains too close to call.

Earlier during the canvass of votes, it was Marcos who was leading by a huge margin.  Robredo finally caught up and gained the lead starting at 3:20 a.m. on May 10.

Today, Marcos asked the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) to suspend the count until it can be determined that there was no anomaly in the canvass of votes. But first, Marcos said he wants the poll body to rewind the vote count to 3:19 a.m. on May 10, when he was ahead.
