LAS VEGAS, Nevada (The Adobo Chronicles) – It was the most embarrassing and awkward moment ever on international live television when Miss Universe host Steve Harvey (‘Family Feud’) announced the wrong winner, apologizing for misreading the names of the first runner-up and the Miss Universe winner in tonight’s pageant in Las Vegas.

Harvey announced Miss Philippines as the first runner-up and Miss Colombia as the new Miss Universe, only to correct himself and say that Miss Philippines was actually the winner in the beauty contest.

Soon after, he followed up his TV apology with a tweet.  It was yet another disaster.  He misspelled both countries represented by the ladies : Miss Philippians and Miss Columbia.

It will be a long sleepless night for Harvey.

MISS PHILIPPINES PIA ALONZO WURTZBACH IS THE NEW MISS UNIVERSE, AND IT IS NOT A HOAX!

imageLAS VEGAS, Nevada (The Adobo Chronicles) – It was a heart-breaking moment for millions of Filipinos who were rooting for Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, to be crowned this year’s Miss Universe.  When the final moment came, Miss U.S.A was named 2nd runner-up, Miss Philippines as 1st runner-up, and Miss Colombia as the new Miss Universe — a back-to-back victory following last year’s winner Paulina Vega, also of Colombia.

Then, all of a sudden, the whole universe turned around a full 360 degrees.

Apparently, pageant host Steve Harvey  wasn’t wearing his contact lenses during his emceeing duties and read the wrong names when he announced the 1st runner-up and the new Miss Universe.

Quickly, Harvey apologized and said that it was actually Miss Philippines who had won the crown.

It was the most dramatic ending ever to an international beauty contest.

What followed were reports of heart attacks in Colombia and the Philippines.

MISS PHILIPPINES TO FANS AND NETIZENS: DON’T THINK, JUST CLICK!

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (The Adobo Chronicles) – When Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach won the  Miss Philippines-Universe title earlier this year, her answer to the final question on her views about Internet censorship was “Always think before you click!”

Now, just hours before she steps on stage for the finals of the Miss Universe pageant currently being held at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Wurtzbach is telling fans and netizens the opposite: “Don’t think, just click!”

She was obviously referring to the online voting where television viewers and Internet users can vote for their favorite Miss Universe contestant in real time.  In the past, viewers and netizens could vote but only for Miss Photogenic, Best in National Costume and 16th finalist spot.

The voting results will be added to the scores from the celebrity judges to determine who wins the crown. Tonight’s celebrity judges include Emmy Award-nominated actress Niecy Nash, celebrity entertainment mogul Perez Hilton, 2012 Miss Universe Olivia Culpo and football legend Emmitt Smith.

So, if you’re planning to vote for Miss Philippines, don’t bother to think.  Just click.  Vote.
