DORAL, Florida (The Adobo Chronicles) – The 63rd Miss Universe Pageant will be held in Doral, Florida on January 25.  Contestants from 88 countries will vie for the coveted title currently held by Gabriela Isler of Venezuela.

The fate of the beauty aspirants will be in the hands of a panel of celebrity judges which includes Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao.

Joining Pacquiao on the panel of judges will be TV host and shoe designer Kristin Cavallari, actor William Levy, reality TV star Lisa Vanderpump and fashion journalist and TV host Louise Roe.

As the pageant’s final night approaches, Pacquiao has reportedly made a special request of pageant owner Donald Trump. The boxer, congressman, and basketball coach apparently wants to be replaced as judge.  Instead, he told Trump that he wanted to be one of the performers during the live telecast.

“It’s been a long-time dream of mine to be able to sing on national and international television, and this could be my one and only chance to do so,” Pacquiao said in his native Tagalog language.

“For almost a year now, I have been practicing the Oscar Award-winning song, “Let It Go,” from the film “Frozen.” “I know I can do a good job.

Trump could not be reached for comment tonight as he is reportedly socializing with the pageant contestants at poolside located within the Doral Golf Resort & Spa, host hotel for the Miss Universe contestants.

So the question remains of Pacquiao come pageant night: judge or performer?

  1. Is popularity valued more than experience in something? Pacquiao’s popularity is NOT supposed to earn him to be a judge in MU or not even a congressman in the Philippines. Pacquiao had not even had a political career. How is it possible to elect someone who has no experience in the field where they are now practising?
