Fact Check: ‘Martyr Or Murderer’ Not An Official Panagbenga Float Entry.

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines. (The Adobo Chronicles, Baguio Bureau) – It is still being investigated but the Baguio Chronicle is reporting that the float of “Martyr or Murderer” was not an official entry in last Sunday’s Panagbenga Grand Parade. How the float managed to gate-crash the event remains a mystery.

Many netizens who saw the posted fact check however disputed it, saying that the subject float was actually that of the Baguio City Bureau of The Adobo Chronicles.

Is this then a case of fake news, satire or a figment of the imagination?

Another Rapplerette Bites The Dust!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Rappler’s “star reporters” seem to be biting the dust one after another (moving on, being on sabbatical or on leave) : Lian Buan. Mara Cepeda. Pia Rañada. Now, Rambo Talabong is leaving Maria Ressa’s angels and is going freelance.

The wide-mouthed Talabong is most known for his series of jabs at the Marcos family — portraying himself as an expert on Martial Law, the Marcos wealth, tax laws, and university credentials, among others.

Like his fellow Rapplerettes, Talabong self-transitioned from writer to broadcaster notwithstanding his lack of qualifications and annoying presence on the tube.

It isn’t clear what Talabong seeks as a freelance “journalist.” Will he establish his own YouTube channel, contract with news networks like GMA 7 or follow in the footsteps of Vloggers like Coach Jarret, Thinking Pinoy and Sass Rogando Sasot?

Critical Moment Awaits Joel Lamangan Film On Martial Law!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – He fulfilled his promise of making a new film on the Marcos Martial Law as a direct response to Darryl Yap’s highly successful movie, “Maid In Malacañang.”

Director Joel Lamangan, more popularly known for his “bomba” films (sex flicks), has come up with a new film, “Oras De Peligro” which chronicles the experiences of a poor urban family in the final days of the Marcos dictatorship.

Lamangan’s film opens on March 1, 2023, coinciding with the opening of Yap’s “Martyr or Murderer” about the late Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr.

All eyes are on the box office receipts, following the dismal showing of yet another Marcos film, “Ako Si Ninoy” by Director Vince Tañada.

Will “Peligro” suffer the same fate as AsN?

More importantly, will the opening and first few days of the Lamangan movie be literally the critical moment in the Director’s long and tired career?
